Luther T. Rogers, III (Tommy) is a third generation General Contractor and President of Rogers Building Corporation. He was born and raised at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina and lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with his wife Tammy and their two sons Turner and Noah.
Tommy was born into the world of construction. His grandfather, Luther T. Rogers, started his career in 1918 as a carpentry contractor and in 1946 created Luther T. Rogers, Inc. His sons, Luther T. Rogers, Jr. and Herschel E. Rogers joined the firm in 1950 and 1954. Tommy began working for the company in the summer of 1970 as a laborer and worked every summer through high school and college until 1977. He then went to work for the Architectural Firm Altobellis and Associates for 2 years as a draftsman. He started back full time with Luther T. Rogers, Inc. in 1979 and obtained his NC General Contractors License in 1990. In 1996, Tommy left Luther T. Rogers, Inc. and created Rogers Building Corporation with his wife Tammy. Tommy has worked in every facet of the construction business from carpenter to estimator, project manager and general supervisor.
Tammy Rogers, another child of construction, started working for her father’s construction company while in college in 1984. After graduating with a business degree from the University of NC at Wilmington, she continued working for his company until 2012. After creating Rogers Building Corporation with Tommy, Tammy worked for both companies until her father retired. She now works full time at Rogers Building Corporation as Vice President/Comptroller.
Over the years, Tommy has acquired extensive knowledge of all aspects of commercial and residential projects. He has built or renovated homes, churches, schools, medical facilities
and offices. He has also had the privilege to be involved in numerous historical projects in the Historic District of downtown Wilmington. Tommy has a passion for bringing old homes and buildings back to life.
